New Music

There is some good "harder" Christian Music just out or coming out soon. Decyfer Down's new record, "The Other Side of Darkness" is their best album since there first record. It came out back in April. And it is getting rave reviews. Thousand Foot Krutch's new record, Exhale, comes out next week. 5 tracks from the record are available if you pre-buy the album on iTunes. It sounds great and is a sequel to "Inhale" that came out in late 2014. And again they produced their record in their own Nashville studio. And last, but not least, Switchfoot releases a new record in July. The three tracks I have heard off of it are classic Switchfoot. Tough Schedule

  The Liberty Flames Football team has got a killer schedule this fall. 3 BCS (Div. 1) teams, Va. Tech, SMU and Coastal Carolina all on the road. Then they play 2 preseason top 20 FCS(Div. 1-AA) at home. So making the playoffs this coming football season might be a stretch, but we didn't think they would make it 2 years ago and they did. Either way you will see me at a few of the games and will watch the rest online and will be rooting hard for my Flames.

Spotify UP!!!

Spotify is up and running. I did not get help from my kids but I did watch some Youtube videos. It does have some advantages. One playlist I created is 70's music over 7 hours. I can listen while I work without having to do anything. The main difference is you don't own the songs. That means I can listen to a lot of different kinds of music without having to download or buy the songs.

Pandora v. Spotify

  It has been brought to my attention that Spotify is better than Pandora. I tend to agree with the people  who are telling me this because, let's face it, I'M OLD. They, on the other hand, are young. So I have a goal in the next several days to get some "real" tutoring on Spotify so I can make an educated choice on the matter. If you have a preference make a comment and your reasoning. This is not earth shattering, I'm just a music guy who wants to get the most out of my listening devices.
   BTW Liberty's baseball team lost in a heart-breaker 1 - 0, so no regionals this year. But Coastal Carolina will represent the Big South very well. (Ranked 19th in the NCAA)

Liberty's Baseball team is playing in the Big South Championship game today. They are down 1 - 0 so far. Hope to see them in the regionals when they win.

Tonight is the last show of the season at the DPAC. Most people would not think of me as being a musical theater kind of guy. But I am (don't judge) Makes for an awesome date night for me and my sweetheart. Roasted pecans and Coke Zero at the theater after a nice dinner in the Tobacco Warehouse District. Don't knock it 'til ya try it.

I have been on a long break for several reasons, but I'm back. I'm trying to be more "social" , blogging, Twitter, Facebook and so on. Not so much for you all out there but for me. I think I might be "out of the Loop" a bit. So some feedback might be warranted. So if you have a loop, and I am welcome, let me in.
